Mobile Veterinary Clinics and How to Start One

Mobile Veterinary Clinics and How to Start OneMobile Veterinary Clinics and How to Start OneMobile veterinary clinics have become increasingly popular due to strong demand from pet owners seeking the convenience of at-home animal services. Additionally, veterinarians are finding that this type of veterinary treatment center is much more affordable to open and operate than a stationary clinic. An article in Veterinary Practice News found that the cost of starting a stationary small animal clinic (including most voreingestellt equipment) was approximately $1,000,000. A mobile clinics startup cost came in at a much more affordable $250,000. The specific items of equipment added to the vehicle has a bearing on the total expense, but the mobile vorkaufsrecht can be very attractive due to savings on overhead costs such as rent or property taxes. Here are some guidelines if you are a veterinarian looking to establish a mobile veterinary practice Business Considerations Mobile practition ers must, of course, be licensed veterinarians in the state where they practice medicine. The regulations governing the operation of mobile veterinary clinics vary widely from one state to the next.Specific state rules and regulations can be researched on the American Association of Mobile Veterinary Practitioners website.Be sure to obtain all necessary insurance, licenses, permits, or other official paperwork before operating a mobile clinic. Mobile Vehicle Equipment Mobile Veterinary clinics utilize a motor vehicle equipped with special medical and surgical equipment to make house or farm calls.A variety of manufacturers make 18 to 30-foot vehicles (vans or trailers) that can be specially equipped for use as veterinary mobile units.Cost varies widely based on the specific equipment that is added, but as mentioned previously the total cost of vehicle and equipment averages about $250,000. Staffing Most mobile vets employ a veterinary technician to travel with them. The vet tech can provide assistance with medical procedures, answer client calls, and schedule appointments. You should be sure to find someone that is reliable, professional, and comfortable working in the mobile environment. Define a Service Area The next step is to define a specific area within which you will travel to provide veterinary services. You may offer services to an entire town, or choose to focus on a certain portion of a large city or metropolitan area. Some vets rotate their mobile appointments so that they can conveniently service different areas without long commutes during the workday. Mobile vets may benefit from planning visits to farms, community centers, apartment complexes, animal shelters, office complexes so that they can service multiple clients in a single location. This option will save time and minimize travel costs. Coordinate With a Stationary Clinic Many states require mobile practitioners to coordinate with a local stationary clinic so that animals r equiring emergency care, hospitalization, or surgery can be referred when such services are deemed necessary. Your mobile clinic may also receive reciprocal referrals from the stationary clinic, as they may have clients that are unable to travel easily, have a large number of animals requiring on-site care, or simply desire the convenience of at-home service. Price Your Services Most mobile veterinarians charge a house call fee on top of the normal costs of veterinary care, which is typically $40 to $50.The vet adds normal exam and treatment fees to this amount. Advertise The mobile veterinary vehicle itself is the best form of advertising, as it is basically a billboard for your services as you drive through your local route. The contact information and logos should be clearly visible on both sides of the vehicle. Mobile clinics can also benefit from having a website, a phone book ad, social media pages, and media coverage in local publications. It is also a good idea to lea ve flyers or business cards at dog parks, pet stores, and other areas where animal owners tend to congregate. Mobile vets have the option of joining the American Association of Mobile Veterinary Practitioners (AAMVP), which offers a searchable Find a Mobile Practitioner database to the public. This is a great way to advertise, and also serves as a professional networking resource. Another great way to promote your services is by networking with other providers of at-home animal services such as mobile dog groomers, pet sitters, and pooper scooper businesses.Reciprocal referrals can be a great way to grow business for all parties concerned, as clients who already use such services are very likely to consider additional options.

Job Hunting during Semester Break for College Students

Job Hunting during Semester Break for College StudentsJob Hunting during Semester Break for College StudentsIt can be very challenging for college students to find the time to job search during the semester. After all, they are busy with academics, athletics, co-curricular activities, volunteer work, internships, and a busy universittsgelnde social life. In addition, for students who want to worksummerorpost-graduate jobsin schauplatzs farfrom their campuses, it is hard to travel to these places to network and/or interview during a busy semester. Therefore, the semester break can be an ideal time to ramp up the job search. Students are not busy taking classes during this time, so they have a chance to take the steps needed to land a good summer or post-grad job. So, what can students (often with the help of families) do to capitalize on this window of opportunity? Here are ten tips for how best to job search during the semester break. How to Use the Semester Break for Job Hunting 1. Target Locations Where You Would Like to WorkIt can be fun to think about where youd like to spend your summer or start your career. Once you have a location of interest, search for job openingsin that location and apply to as many opportunities as possible. If the location is far from your school, let employers know that you are available during break for an interview or even an informal meeting (if they are not yet conducting formal interviews). This strategy will be particularly important if you will be abroad during the semester and not available to meet with employers during that time. 2. Find Companies Youd Like to Work ForSince many jobs will not yet be advertised, it isequally important to identify employers in fields of interest even if you havent seen any job advertisements from them. You can uselocal chambers of commerceand employer directories as well as a variety ofother resourcesto research companies in your field. 3. Connect With EmployersOnce you find companies you are interested in, send aletter of interestandresumeor even visit some local organizations and inquire about summer or entry-level opportunities. Traveling to check out new locations can be exciting. Think about family and friends in those areas who might allow you to stay with them for a couple of days while you conduct your meetings. 4. Build a Career NetworkSemester break is an ideal time to reach out to contacts in locations, fields, and organizations of interest. Useinformational interviewsto ask them for advice about your search, information about their field, and suggestions about jobs and internships. These meetings can often lead to job referrals and are a critical piece of any summer or entry-level job search. 5. Tap Your ConnectionsAsk yourcollege careerand/oralumni officefor a list of contacts in fields and geographic areas of interest. Parents can help by pulling together a list of family contacts to approach for informational interviews. Send alettervia emaille or old -fashioned snail mail to these people telling them a little about what you are up to in your life and include a request for an informational consult or referrals to any of their contacts in areas of interest. If the letter is to a family contact, include a current photo old folks love to see how youve grown 6. Attend Holiday GatheringsTake advantage of anyholiday gatheringsto talk about your situation and ask for advice and referrals. You will be amazed at how helpful these family friendlies can be withyour job search 7. Set Up a Job ShadowIf you identify any people eager to help, consider asking them if you couldshadowthem or a colleague over break. A shadow experience will give you great insight into the field and the opportunity to meet and make a favorable impression with lots of people on the inside of that organization. 8. Attend Job FairsCheck to see if there are anyjob fairsin your area over break and attend if possible. Ask your college career office as well as local chamb ers of commerce for suggestions for local or popular fairs. 9. Use Social MediaUse the break to create or update aLinkedIn profile, search for anetworking group for your college, and/or ask your career or alumni office for suggestions. Identify industry groups for fields of interest and join them if they are open to students. Reach out to people in these groups and ask if you might meet with them for an informational consultation to learn more about their field. 10. Target Spring Campus RecruitersIdentify employers who will be visitingyour campus to recruitthis upcoming spring, then compose drafts ofcover lettersand revise yourresumein anticipation of their visit. Professionals in your colleges career services office will often be available during break to critique your letters from a distance. If you spend a couple of hours each day over break carrying out these types of activities, you will still have time to decompress. Youll also relieve some of the pressure of the upcoming spri ng job search.

Why Lateral Career Moves are Actually Power Moves

Why Lateral Career Moves are Actually Power MovesWhy Lateral Career Moves are Actually Power Moves Sometimes, the field you studied in school doesnt turn out to be the perfect career fit. Or you spend many happy years in a certain part of the business, but eventually youre no longer fulfilled. Its easy to feel stuck, and making a big career change can be daunting. But LisaAlteri, Chief People Officerfor Kraft Heinz U.S. , is a firm believer that big career changes are possible at any point. The keys to success Lean into your curiosity, and embrace the power of the zur seite hin gelegen move. Its hard to quell that evil ego, Alteri says. In general therbeies an obsession about titles because title is associated with status, and thats where the ego comes in. But you as the individual care so much more about the title than your current or future organization does. And those lateral moves can bring so much more than a title.Alteri knows that well She started her career de cades ago in the finance organization and enjoyed great success. Then she pivoted to ausverkauf and rose quickly through those ranks, too. And most recently, in October 2018, she moved to the people function in her current role as U.S. chief. Its something I try to encourage within people when it comes to their performance Dont think of moves as just about moving up think also of moving laterally, says Alteri. It doesnt have to be as hard as you might think, she adds. Heres how to make that big career move (or moves), and feel fulfilled at work again. This is Alteris key piece of advice throughout your career-change journey . If youre really interested in something, chances are youll be good at it, she says.So youll have the perseverance and drive to keep learning. But how can you discover that curiosity , especially if youre feeling uninspired in your current position? For Alteri, the answer lay in her exposure to different parts of the business while working in finance. Among o ther positions she served as an analyst at General Electrics manufacturing finance division, and later in operations finance and regional business management at Kraft.I did almost every possible rotation in finance, and the more I did that the more curious I became about those other aspects of the business, Alteri says.Your job may not offer that kind of exposure, so its also smart to seek advice from trusted managers or mentors. They may be able to place you on cross-functional projects , or at least offer advice about how to explore your next step. In Alteris case, a mentor at Kraft served as the catalyst for her first big career move. Had Alteri ever explored other functions, he asked, such as abverkauf?Nobody in finance ever considered a functional move to sales, Alteri says, laughing. It was known as the dark sideAfter the conversation with her mentor, Alteri made connections with senior leadership in the sales function, and she ultimately accepted a role that was two pay gr ades below her finance position.I realized that I didnt have the experience in sales that I did in finance, so I shouldnt expect I would be at the same level there, Alteri says. To be honest, even as I think now about all the different roles Ive had over my career, that was the hardest, scariest step to take.Alteri had to start all over, but once again, she proved herself in Kraft sales She rose from roles like customer business manager positions at different grocery chains, to national director of sales planning & strategy of the entire grocery business unit, and ultimately to vice president of sales for the beverage business unit.It just shows that its OK not to know everything at first, Alteri says. Theres a rush of excitement when you make a change, and that can carry you through. That feeling of excitement - or lack thereof, at times - can be another important guide, Alteri says. As she had risen to sales VP for Krafts beverage, the obvious next step was for Alteri to become t he head of the U.S. retail operation. It was the natural progression, but Ive never managed my career in a linear fashion, Alteri says. My sanity check has become Does this give me an adrenaline rush, the butterflies in my stomach? So dont simply work toward, or accept, promotions in your current field simply because its just how its done. At each point, assess how you really feel about the role and whether you feel excited to continue down that path. For Alteri, the U.S. retail chief role just didnt feel right. She reflected instead on what gave her those adrenaline-fueled butterflies. At this point and level in my career, every role Im in is really a people-managing role, Alteri says. That thought gave me butterflies because I recognized functionally I didnt have the people experience. Im lucky to work for a company that truly does live by pursuing your curiosity, so it was a good time to have that conversation with senior leadership.Kraft ultimately created the role of U.S. Chief P eople Officer for Alteri, who stepped into the position in October 2018.But not all companies may be as receptive to conversations about 180-degree career moves, Alteri notes. In that case, its on you to make your case.Especially if youre in a traditional, hierarchical organization, you need to show you have a track record of delivering, of success, Alteri says. But thats just the first step, the table stakes that are the price of entry. To convince the company youll likely need to go several steps further, explaining why the move makes sense for the organization at large and how youve built colleagues trust in your capabilities over the course of your career there. But before you march into the boss office, ask yourself a few questions first - and be very honest with the answers, Alteri says. Can you look at yourself in the mirror and state what your legacy is? Alteri says. How is this organization better for you having been there? Thats the gut check. If you cant confidently stat e your legacy, you likely need to do that work before you move to the next step.

And, although preparation is key to acing an interview - just as its important when youre doing a demo or pitching a product - you dont want to sound stiff or overly rehearsed.   Do use questions about products and services as an opportunity to demonstrate the research you’ve done on the company and discuss why you want to sell their specific products or services. Convey your understanding of the companys product and sales strategies and how it relates to your past experience, using examples and anecdotes where possible.   Here are some typical interview questions about products and services that you might need to answer during a sales interview. Whats More Important, a Quality Product or Excellent Customer Service? As you consider your response, keep in mind that you do not have to choose quality or service, despite the questions structure. Use your response to discuss the merits of each. Its ideal if you can relate this question back to your own experience. You could mention, for instance, a particularly high quality product you sold, and how it helped you do your job well.   Sample Answers: I believe that the two go hand in hand. You are not helping your customers by selling an inferior product. I make sure that the products that I represent are all of a high quality and good value, which gives me the confidence that I am providing my customers with the best possible customer service. The quality product comes first. When you are able to provide a consistently high quality product, you are providing the customer with the most important aspect of customer service, a superior product experience. Customer service is the most important aspect of sales. Without friendly, knowledgeable service, no product can sell itself.Im more focused on selling solutions in whatever form that takes, rather than products or services. Have You Consistently Met Your Sales Goals? Naturally, the interviewer will want to know about your sales history and the ideal candidate will have proven experience meeting and exceeding sales goals. Come ready to talk about your sales success and how youve met and exceeded goals. Cite numbers as evidence when possible. Review this sample answer, and also take a look at these additional tips for responding to interview questions around sales goals.   Sample Answer: I have never failed to meet or exceed sales goals in my eight-year career. Last year my team exceeded goals by 20 percent and consistently increased sales month over month. We made this happen during a time when the industry was contracting and other teams fell short of their goal. Sell Me This Paperclip Demonstrating your sales skills on the spot is an age-old interview question to get you to think on your feet. To best attack this question, dont try to launch into a pitch about the paperclip; find out what the buyer/interviewer is looking for and then sell the paperclips benefits that match his needs.  If he needs something durable, note that the paperclip is guaranteed to last two years. If he needs something multi-functional, indicate the paperclip can hold papers, money, and keep a loose button attached.   Sample Answer:   I appreciate your comment that you dont know that you need a paperclip, since you have a stapler available. Staplers are great - I use one myself. But I find that the paperclip can be really handy for papers before theyre filed away completely. For instance, you mentioned you often wind up with bundles that have multiple staples, since you have to staple every time you add to the pile of papers. With a paperclip, you can easily add to the collection of papers.

How CFOs Reduce Stress in the Workplace

How CFOs Reduce Stress in the Workplace How CFOs Reduce Stress in the Workplace Stress in the workplace is an ongoing issue for everyone, but the top of the corporate ladder is no safe harbor from work worries. CFOs have challenges that go beyond managing their company financials, whether they’re dealing with critical deadlines, conflicts with coworkers, or finding the right people for their finance and accounting teams. “The daily stressors CFOs face at the office often follow them home,” said Paul McDonald, senior executive director at Robert Half. “Most employees have lost sleep over work worries, but financial executives have the added responsibility of making sure everyone - including themselves - is performing up to par.” Discover new research from Robert Half Financial Accounting that shows just what pressures are showing up in the C-suite. Here are eight actions CFOs can take now to help reduce job stress later, both for themselves and for their employees: 1. Recruit the right people for the job All managers can decrease stress in the workplace by hiring and building capable teams. Whether you’re looking for a financial analyst, staff accountant or any other finance and accounting employee, you know about this industry’s demand for top talent and the struggle to land new hires. Our specialized recruiting firm can help you assess your staffing needs and streamline the hiring process. 2. Motivate and recognize your team Once you have your team in place, make sure to engage your team and reward job performance. Each employee will respond to different motivational techniques at work, but everyone likes to hear when they're doing a good job. Don't hold back on genuine praise, which can go a long way to lowering stress levels. Consider low-cost ways to offer employee recognition. 3. Conduct effective meetings Hold a team meeting immediately upon completing a deadline for all major efforts, including year-end, so everyone can celebrate what worked and vent about what didn’t work. By hearing what employees have to say and documenting all the issues raised, you not only help to alleviate your team’s stress, you also create a foundation for action plans to make important process improvements. 4. Address issues while they’re fresh Workplace conflicts rarely go away on their own, and most will fester over time. If you feel tension with colleagues, reach out to them and work through whatever is causing their stress. Prioritize relationship-building. Invite coworkers to coffee or lunch and learn about their job challenges and areas of expertise. 5. Be more proactive with planning By mapping out your day-to-day operations along with new initiatives a bit further in advance for each upcoming quarter, your team has a better chance of anticipating challenges and setting realistic goals for their workflow. Then when year-end rolls around, everyone will be better-equipped with the resources and energy needed to manage the additional workload and meet the deadlines without all the stress. 6. Assess your training and technology needs Now is the time to analyze the effectiveness of your finance and accounting operations - from each team member’s skill sets to the software and technology you depend upon. Look for changes that could have a positive impact on the year-end process overall, such as automating a manual procedure, upgrading computers, evaluating workloads, or sending your staff to a professional development conference. 7. Revisit your corporate culture Are you cultivating a positive environment where employees feel respected and rewarded for their hard work? Are they fully aware of the company’s big picture and what part their role plays in your business strategies? When people feel truly connected to the company, they will give a little more when you need it. A strong corporate culture means everyone is committed to achieving the benefits of success, and they also fully understand the consequences of failure. Taking time off from the job can help you recharge, and lunches and quick walks outside can refresh you for the rest of your day. Consider thanking your team with a few stress-reducing perks, like a professional neck and shoulder massage at the desk or an extra day of comp time. Adding to your work-life balance can do wonders to setting a good example for lowering stress levels. Every step you take now can go miles toward making for a much smoother journey for your entire organization. You can ease the workplace stress - and get some sleep at the same time! This post was updated recently to reflect new information.

Article II of the United States Military Code of Conduct

Article II of the United States Military Code of Conduct Article II of the United States Military Code of Conduct There are six short and easy to remember  Articles of the Code of Conduct. In fact, any military members first week of basic training will require remembering the six articles of the Code of Conduct and recite them verbatim to an instructor in a stressful environment.  If you are considering joining the military, read these and put them to memory as you will grow from them into an American member of the Armed Forces. Specifically, Article II is the following: I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist. What this means is members of the Armed Forces may never surrender voluntarily. Even when isolated and no longer able to inflict casualties on the enemy or otherwise defend themselves, it is their duty to evade capture and rejoin the nearest friendly force. Surrender is the willful act of members of the Armed Forces turning themselves over to enemy forces when not required by utmost necessity or extremity. Surrender is always dishonorable and never allowed. When there is no chance for meaningful resistance, evasion is impossible, and further fighting would lead to their death with no significant loss to the enemy, members of Armed Forces should view themselves as captured against their will versus a circumstance that is seen as voluntarily surrendering. They must remember that the capture was dictated by the futility of the situation and overwhelming enemy strengths. In this case, capture is not dishonorable. The responsibility and authority of a commander never extend to the surrender of command, even if isolated, cut off, or surrounded, while the unit has a reasonable power to resist, break out, or evade to rejoin friendly forces. Here is what military personnel need to know, specifically, service members should: Understand that when they are cut off, shot down, or otherwise isolated in enemy-controlled territory, they must make every effort to avoid capture. The courses of action available include concealment until recovered by friendly rescue forces, evasive travel to a friendly or neutral territory, and evasive travel to other prebriefed areas.Understand that capture does not constitute a dishonorable act if the service member has exhausted all reasonable means of avoiding it and the only alternative is death or serious bodily injury. Understand and be confident in their ability to stay alive using survival skills while evading, the procedures and techniques of rescue by search and recovery forces, and the procedures for properly using specified evasion destinations. Special Provisions for Medical Personnel Chaplains No additional flexibility. However, medical personnel and chaplains are subject to lawful capture. They may only resort to arms in self-defense or in defense of the wounded and sick in their charge when attacked in violation of the Geneva Convention. They must refrain from all aggressive action and may not use force to prevent their capture or that of their unit by the enemy. It is, on the other hand, perfectly legitimate for a medical unit to withdraw in the face of the enemy. The Articles Article I  -  I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.Article II  -  I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist.Article III  -  If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and to aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy. Article IV  -  If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them up in every way.Article V  -  When questioned, should I become a  prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause. Article VI  -  I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America. For a full description of all the articles of the Code of Conduct see the above links.

A statue of a fierce young girl is reminding companies to hire more women on Wall Street

A statue of a fierce young girl is reminding companies to hire more women on Wall Street A statue of a fierce young girl is reminding companies to hire more women on Wall Street If you walk by the iconic statue of the charging bull in New York City’s Wall Street on International Women’s Day, you’ll see that the bull now has an small, fierce opponent. It comes courtesy of State Street Global Advisors, a $2.5 trillion asset manager. As part of a campaign to push financial companies to increase gender diversity, State Street commissioned a 50-inch bronze statue of a young girl with her hands on her hips as she defiantly stands up to the bull in front of her.Usually the bull is a popular tourist landmark, but today, throngs of media, curious tourists and New Yorkers on their lunch break were leaving it alone to get a look at the statue of the girl in its path.Reviews for the new statue are positive Lindsay Childress with her daughter  Marie, a woman who asked to remain anonymous, said she didn’t tell her boss she was using her lunch break to go out and see the bull.“Women, particularly with this administration, are feeling really marginalized, so I think it’s making quite a statement,” she said. Lindsay Childress said she brought her young daughter to see the bronze statue because it’s “empowering” and she wanted her daughter to experience it for when she was older.Writer Andrew Lloyd-Jones’ only complaint was the “slight shame” of the crowds being too big to get a shot the bull and the girl in one photo.Emily Fisher, a local real estate broker, thought the addition was a welcome change.“There’s a lot of emphasis in our society in the United States on constant progress and movement, and not so much sustainability. When I look at the bull, it makes me think about that,” she said, noting that the tradition of rubbing the bull’s testicles for luck was â €œgross.”She was more inspired by the bronze statue of the girl.“I thought the statue was nice…a brave defiant smart girl. Maybe she’ll figure out how to make money on Wall Street or maybe she’s facing down the bull.”That’s the kind of reaction the sculptor of the piece, Kristen Visbal, was hoping for. Visbal  told  The Wall Street Journal she wanted to create art that every woman could relate to: “The bull is symbolic of every issue coming down the pike, that they can stand firm and hold their ground and deal with it.”Why the Wall Street Bull needs someone to stand up to itAround 25% of the companies in the Russell 3000 Index, which is an index of the nation’s largest companies, have no women on their boards, according to State Street.Physical art is not the only creative tool artists and thinkers have been using to send a message about gender parity in the workforce. 100percentmen is a Tumblr that curates screenshots of corporate boards, bios and panels to visu ally indict all organizations that only include men.“A key contributor to effective independent board leadership is diversity of thought, which requires directors with different skills, backgrounds and expertise,” State Street president Ron O’Hanley said in a statement on the campaign to raise awareness of why female leadership is so important. How long will the statue stay up?A city permit will let the statue stay up for at least a week as State Street negotiates for it to stay longer. And there’s precedent for that happening: The Wall Street bull itself was a 1989 guerilla stunt by Arturo Di Modica that was removed and later reinstalled after public support. But for now, the statue of the bold young girl is making a statement.“Know the power of women in leadership. SHE makes a difference,” the plaque under the young girl’s feet reads.

Top 5 Litigation Trends

Top 5 Litigation Trends Top 5 Litigation Trends Fulbright Jaworski has released the results of its seventh-annual Litigation Trends Survey Report, a detailed situation map of the global litigation scene based on the thinking of senior corporate counsel (in the U.S. and the U.K.) regarding the near-term future prospects for dispute resolution and related matters. Half of the survey respondents believe the legal industry will permanently change the way it does business because of the changing economy. Aspiring litigators would do well to have a look at the findings, which provide an expansive view of the lawsuit landscape not necessarily available to BigLaws rank and file. Here are the Top 5 takeaways from the report:1. IP/patents replaced bankruptcy/reorganization as one of this year's top 5 litigation areas targeted by companies for increased spending. The other four: Regulatory Investigations, Contracts, Labor Employment, and Electronic Discovery.2. 80% of U.S. respondents think the U.S. of Civil Procedure should be modified to limit e-discovery in civil actions.3. The companies most likely to initiate litigation are in the energy, health care, manufacturing and insurance industries.4. More companies are using alternative fee arrangements than last year, including 61% of the largest companies (One in six estimate AFAs account for 50% or more of their billings.)5. The changing economy thus far has made U.S. companies far less willing to inititiate litigation or go to trial than their U.K. counterparts.-posted by brian
